National CORE partnered with the County of Riverside and
its Economic Development Agency to purchase Bravo
Mobile Home Park in March 1999 with an agreement the
property be renovated and space rents leased under
an affordable housing program. Rehabilitation work
was completed in October of 1999. Improvements included
a new community room and leasing office, sparkling
refurbished swimming pool, upgraded laundry facilities,
exterior lighting, new asphalt and landscaping.
On
Saturday, May 22, 1999 National CORE sponsored a Spring
Clean Fest '99 at Bravo
Mobile Home Park. The spring-cleaning event gave
the community an opportunity to clean out lots, homes
and storage areas and allowed residents to help their
neighbors do the same. Employees of National CORE
helped pick up trash on lots, paint, and did gardening
work for some of its less mobile and elderly residents.
Free t-shirts and lunch was offered to volunteers
and participants in the event.
