The community room, located right off the pool area, includes billiards, a television, kitchen, library and chest and checkerboards.

As part of the Palmdale Redevelopment Agency's Downtown Revitalization Plan, National CORE worked with the City's Redevelopment Agency to acquire and completely rehabilitate a 109-unit, affordable housing community for seniors. The property was located adjacent to a Senior Center. Unfortunately the area and the property were in severe state of disrepair. Drug dealers prowled the neighborhood streets and conducted business in the neighborhood park. This property, along with several others in the immediate area, was identified by city officials as the most blighted area in the city.

Organized activities include horseshoe and billiard tournaments, garden club, day trips, craft clubs and a resident sponsored newsletter.

Beginning with the Impressions Senior Apartment Community, National CORE began the process of transforming the entire neighborhood. Since completion of Impressions, National CORE also completed rehabilitation of nearby LaQuinta, Park Vista, and Summerwood Apartments - all affordable housing communities. Together with our community partners we have aided in the complete transformation of this entire neighborhood.

To help our residents maintain active, healthy lifestyles at Impressions, National CORE purchased a community van to provide regular transportation to grocery stores, doctors' appointments, shopping malls, and other community services. In addition, the on-site community center is always busy with bingo games, potluck dinners, arts and crafts activities, health screenings and clinics, billiard tournaments and more. One of the favorite activities for many of the residents is tending to the flowers and vegetables in the community greenhouse and vegetable garden.
