National Community Renaissance and the Palmdale Redevelopment Agency have been working on the city's comprehensive Downtown Revitalization Plan since 1996. National CORE aquired 291 apartment units in four locations set aside for low- and very low-income residents. La Quinta was the second of the four properties rehabilitated by National CORE.

La Quinta is located within the City of Palmdale's Downtown Revitalization Area, and is within walking distance of several other SCHDC communities, as well as Courson Park, shopping, restaurants and services.
