JOB DESCRIPTION
AFTER SCHOOL SITE STAFF
20 hours/week, no benefits
The Program Worker will facilitate recreation, education, and/or enrichment at a Hope Through Housing program site. The position reports to the Site Coordinator.
Description of Duties
- To design, plan, and facilitate activities with groups of 20 children.
- To advise the Site Coordinator as to what supplies, materials, and other forms of support are needed for activities.
- To implement Hope Through Housing's best practices after school model.
- To supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program.
- To assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events.
- To attend staff development trainings and workshops.
- To perform other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications
- Desire to work with children and youth.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Hope Through Housing staff, parents, and community.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Hope Through Housing and National CORE staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leaders.
- Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Other Requirements
- Ability to speak and write a language other than English is preferred.
- Ability to work 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Willing to work evenings and Saturdays as required.
- Willing to travel to off-site meetings, trainings, and events.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to pass TB skin test and background check.
