RIVERSIDE, Calif. - On Thursday, October
28, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., National Community Renaissance will celebrate the completion
of more than $250,000 in renovations at its newly acquired
Bravo Mobile Home Park affordable housing community.
The project is the result of a partnership with the
County of Riverside through its Economic Development
Agency and SCHDC, a nonprofit affordable housing provider.
The goal is to provide high quality affordable housing
in the Pedley community. The public is invited to attend
the grand opening celebration held at Bravo Mobile Home
Park on 4041 Pedley Avenue.
The total project cost to buy and
renovate the mobile home park was approximately $7 million.
Two series of bonds were issued totaling approximately
$6.5 million and $520,000 was contributed from the Riverside
County Economic Development Agency's funds earmarked
for affordable housing. SCHDC purchased the property
for $5.8 million. Under affordable housing and regulatory
agreements, the nonprofit SCHDC spent more than $250,000
renovating the property including improvements to the
community room, leasing office, adding a computer-equipped
learning center, refurbishing the swimming pool, installing
new laundry facilities, adding playground equipment,
