National Community Renaissance (National CORE) is a non-profit housing development organization dedicated to neighborhood revitalization and enhancement by building and managing quality, service-enriched affordable housing.
Through its social services foundation, Hope Through Housing, National CORE is committed to improving communities and residents' lives by providing services including after-school tutoring, computer centers, senior wellness classes and more.
Working closely with city and local government officials, National CORE handles each aspect of high-quality housing solutions, from acquisitions to property management. This structure ensures tight quality control and a seamless vision.

Major Accomplishments
- First non-profit affordable housing developer in the United States to construct communities completely from within (acquisition, project management, accounting, construction, property management, social services and asset management).
- Our foundation, Hope Through Housing, is a leader in using assessment tools and research to understand existing community strengths and challenges in order to provide services that improve the lives of our residents. Programs are then evaluated to measure the impact of all of our social service initiatives.
- First non-profit firm on West Coast to develop mixed-income housing.
- Created the first revolving acquisitions fund for preservation of affordable housing throughout the United States. In six years, the fund has preserved more than 4,000 affordable housing units.
- The first non-profit affordable housing firm in the country to start its own property management company.
- Founder Jeffrey S. Burum served as a commissioner on the Congressional Millennial Housing Commission.
